2nd Star Program Advertising

2nd Star Productions is a non-profit community theater company in Bowie, MD. We produce three musicals per year at the Bowie Playhouse in Whitemarsh Park.  

Our upcoming shows are:

Dreamgirls, May 31 – June 29, 2024

Advertising in 2nd Star's show programs is a great way to both spread the word about your business or organization and support an award-winning community theater company. 

Benefits of advertising in 2nd Star’s program include: 

  • Reach approximately 1,600-1,800 audience members over 11-14 performances.

  • Programs go home as keepsakes reaching additional potential customers.

  • Be an active supporter of the Arts in our community.

Program ad sizes and prices:

Quarter (1/4) Page: $100 ($60 rate available for non-profits)
Half (1/2) Page: $200
Full (1) Page: $300

Nonprofit companies can place a quarter page ad at a discount rate of $60. Other businesses who commit to advertising with Dreamgirls and in all three shows in the 2024/2025 season will receive a 20% discount on their ad package.

You can design and submit your own ad or we can design it for you for an additional $50 design fee. 

You can also opt in to an email partner placement in one of our 2nd Star newsletters for an additional $75. Newsletters are sent to approximately 3,500 patrons and 2nd Star volunteers approximately once per month. Email sponsorships are currently only available to program advertisers.

To reserve your program ads, please email marketing@2ndstarproductions.org. Please be sure to let us know whether you need us to design the ad or will be providing it to us and which show programs you’d like to be included in. 

Technical Specifications & Ad Submissions

  • All self-designed ads for Dreamgirls should be submitted by May 12, 2024.

  • If you are requesting our design services, please submit all text and logos you would like to have included in the ad no later than May 5, 2024. 

  • Ad sizes, specs & guidelines:

    • Quarter page ads: 2.25 inches wide x 3.75 inches high

    • Half page ads: 4.875 inches wide x 3.75 inches high

    • Full page ads: 5.5 inches w x 8.5 inches high

    • All ads should be 300dpi (print quality). Please supply a high-resolution PDF with fonts and images embedded.

    • Programs are printed in black and white, so color ads will be converted to grayscale. 

    • You are encouraged (but not required) to include a line in your ad offering patrons a discount on goods when they mention seeing your ad in 2nd Star’s program. 

    • All files under 10MB may be emailed to marketing@2ndstarproductions.org. For files over 10MB, please reach out to the email first for an alternate delivery method.
